Empowering Physiological Birth

Childbirth education class

designed specifically

for those who desire to

understand, embrace, and

achieve physiological birth.

What sets this childbirth education apart:

Holistic Approach: All natu-ral here! The focus is on natural, physiological childbirth and the powerhouse of your body, baby, and birth. The ultimate birth team and how they work in unison.

How not to have an epidural: Classes often teach you about an epidural or pharmacological pain relief options. But what you learn here is how NOT to use them! How to use what ya got to power through your birth.

How to minimise Interventions: Sometimes interventions are needed, but in most cases they are used because physiological birth has not been respected. Here is where you’ll learn how to honour physiological birth, reduced the need for interventions and create a birth environment that supports your natural birthing process.

How to prevent Tearing: And it won’t be about massage or eating dates, it will be focused on birth practices and movements that actually reduce the chance of tearing.

Suitable for All Birth Settings: You’ll be educated by a Private Midwife who supported women to birth in hospital both public and private and homebirth.

Advocacy and Autonomy: To achieve a physiological birth within the maternity system, you are going to need autonomy and advocacy skills. And that’s the whole birth team I’m talking about! I’m going to help you master those skills.

Critical Thinking and Evidence-Based: I have heard some BS in my time as a midwife and when we get information there is always two sides to the coin. I’ll teach you how to develop critical thinking skills and understand the latest evidence-based research and the two sides to make informed choices.

What is Physiological Birth?

Physiological birth is a natural, instinctive process where the body leads the way, free from unnecessary medical interventions. It is rooted in the understanding that birth is a normal, healthy event in a woman's life, designed to unfold optimally when undisturbed. Embracing physiological birth means trusting your body's innate ability to give birth, harnessing the power of hormones, and creating an environment that supports this natural process. This approach prioritises the mother's comfort, autonomy, and preferences, allowing her to move, vocalise, and birth in ways that feel right to her. By honouring physiological birth, we minimise the risks associated with interventions, promote better outcomes for both mother and baby, and foster a deeply empowering and positive birth experience.
